SalBasri

Born in 1966, SalBasri began playing the drums at age 7. He performed professionally in his teenage years while still in school and earned his Certificate of Advancement in Drum Performance from the Yamaha Music School.
SalBasri also performed with the Yamaha Combo Band and the Radio Television Singapore Children’s Band.

SalBasri became known as one of the most innovative drummers in all music of his eras, performing with prolific musicians and singers namely Tanya Chua, Kuo Po, the late Amran, IGTA, Fiesta, Private Collection, A-men, and many more. His performance venues includes Saxophone Bar, Bier Keller, Where Else, Revival Pub, Tornado, Gazers, Rasa Sentosa Resort, Dada, Sheraton’s Aurum Bar, Hard Rock Cafe Singapore, TopTen, Papa Joes, Paradigm, Ipanema World Music Bar, and many more. He has also applied his trade professionally overseas in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Penang and Sarawak.

SalBasri pursued his academic studies in Melbourne Australia in 2003 and returned to Singapore in 2005 to resume his career as a music educator.
At present, SalBasri imparts his drumming experiences and knowledge to the younger generation at the Academy of Rock.
