Giovanni Pezzoli
Stadio

After some early experiences playing covers of 70s rock bands such as Vanilla Fudge, Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin, Giovanni began his drumming career with Lucio Dalla in the band Idoli. Although the moved on to other bands, Giovanni and Lucio have maintained an exciting and fruitful collaboration; Giovanni appears throughout Lucio’s multi-platinum career.

In 1976 he met Gaetano Curreri and Vasco Rossi and played on Vasco’s first albums. Later on he founded the band Stadio with Gaetano, Ricky Portera, Marco Nanni and Fabio Liberatori. Today, after more than 15 LPs, Stadio is at the top of the Italian charts. Andrea Fornili and Roberto Drovandi have joined the band after Ricky, Marco and Fabio left it.

Apart from Stadio, Lucio Dalla and Vasco Rossi, Giovanni has played with numerous musicians including: Antonello Venditti, Biagio Antonacci, Bracco Di Graci, Eros Ramazzotti, Francesco Guccini, Gianni Morandi, Luca Carboni, Paolo Conte and Patty Pravo.
