Georg Voros is one of South Africa’s foremost drummers, clinicians and teachers. With a wealth of international playing and recording experience, he is also responsible for other major achievements such as his critically acclaimed drumming motivational book Rhythm of the Head, which is endorsed by drummers such as Virgil Donati, Bill Bruford and Carl Palmer. He is also the founder of South Africa’s first drum magazine and SA’s biggest drum event The Johannesburg Drumfest. In 2004 he was the first drummer in South African history to have undertaken a double drum clinic tour - with none other than fellow Mapex endorsee Dom Famularo.

Having lived in the UK for 15 years the artists, producers and engineers Georg has worked with include: Black Star Liner – 1999 Mercury Music Award 'Best Album' nominees, The Stu Page Band – 4X winners of the British Country Music Association Best Band award, Brendan Croker – producer/solo artist and member of 'The Notting Hillbillies', Gail Davies – award winning Nashville based singer and songwriter, Gerry Hogan – The UK’s foremost steel guitarist and bandleader of Albert Lee’s Hogans Heroes, Umoja - The South African Hit Musical West End show.
In South Africa Georg was founder member of the successful 80’s chart hit band e’Void. Amongst others he has also worked with respected solo recording artist Neill Solomon, Kwaito singer Tamara Dey and ‘Idols’ judge/singer Mara Louw. He recorded drums and percussion for the stage show aired at the 2003 World Parks Summit attended by President Thabo Mbheki and former President Nelson Mandela.
Focusing greatly on correct hand and feet techniques, Georg currently operates a busy private teaching facility with many of his students playing in top South African bands. He is an active clinician and focuses on imparting a positive message to all who attend. He is recording his first solo album in 2008 from which a touring band will follow. The style of music could be described as world jazz; with a very big influence from Eastern Europe as Georg’s ancestry is Hungarian.
