Laurent Biollay is an impossible to miss in the pro music scene in Switzerland. This drummer from Lausanne plays brilliantly in many different projects, exploring various styles. Rock, hip hop, soul or jazz, he loves the diversity of techniques and experiences.

His advanced studies have allowed Laurent to acquire his present technical level. He studied classical percussion at the conservatory and took classes with Stéphane Borel, Marcel Papaux and Olivier Clerc.

Thanks to his talent, this relentless hard-working musician is part of many diverse and successful projects: SENS UNIK (the mythical hip hop band from Switzerland with numerous gold records), A FEW GOOD MEN (the big funk band from Switzerland which Laurent initiated), and STRESS (the gold record winning new hop hop Swiss star).

He is also part of new promising projects like ZORK, DEBORAH (solo project from the singer of Sens Unik), GUESS WHAT and EXPLOSIVE DRUM. As a result, Laurent has toured widely, all over Switzerland and abroad, in the most prestigious clubs and international festivals (Mantreux Jazz Festival, Paleo, Gurten, Transmusicales in Rennes, Eurosonica in Holland, Open Air St Gallen, Midem in Cannes, Eurockéennes in Belfort, BAM in Barcelona, Printemps de Bourges, New Music Seminar in New York, etc.)

Besides this considerable live activity, Laurent passes on his passion and his technical skills by teaching drum classes at the famous jazz school in Lausanne (EJMA).

Laurent has kept the same burning passion for music. He is always curious and connected to new sounds, which enable shim to evolve with time. This accomplished musician is constantly seeking to improve, in order to continue forwards. His success and fame have convinced MAPEX DRUMS and Paiste Cymbals to endorse him and they have been renewing their collaborations for the past 10 years.
