Chen Pai-Chou,
AKA “Mr. Q”

Chen Pai-Chou (陳柏州), the drummer from Taiwan and being famous in all Chinese world, as known as Mr. Q in Jay Chou’s (周杰倫, Taiwan biggest artist) band, was born in 7th Nov, 1976, start playing in bands at his 13, firstly as a keyboardist, then found his interest in drums at the age of 14, after self-teaching himself for few years, his band won the SILVER PRIZE in a band competition organized by Yamaha, which bring them a lot of gigs at pubs, halls and live houses around Taiwan,

In 1996, after his overwhelming success as a drummer gigging around Taiwan, at his 20, Mr. Q kicked off his professional career, soon become one of the most sought after young session player in town. In 1998, he joined the biggest band in Taiwan music history- “The Power Station”, recorded 3 of their albums, and also their 100, 000 audiences 98-99 tour.

While he keep being called by some of the biggest names from both Hong Kong and Taiwan like- CoCo Li, Jay Chou, Karen Mok , Sammi Cheng, Cheer Chen, Joey Yung, Jolin Tzai, Nan Quan Ma Ma, etc. to record their various albums, he also did another 1, 200, 000 audiences tour with Taiwan legendary artist- Wakin Chou in his world Tour.

Since 2002, the drumming sensation joined force with Jay Chou, and become his regular drummer, both in studio and concert, since then, more than 7, 000, 000 audiences experienced his powerful, yet tasteful drumming on Jay’s World Tour including places like Taiwan, Hong Kong, Las Vegas, Vancouver, L.A., Tianjin, Shanghai, Qingdao, Beijing, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, etc.

His drumming is very often described as “stunning!!”, “skilful and rock solid”, “jaw-dropping soloing”, “unstoppable”, and he will definitely become one of the icon of Chinese drumming future.
