Doug Pellerin has been playing drums for 17 years and playing in bands for over ten years. Doug’s fast feet earned him the title of "World's Fastest Feet" in 2002, when he beat his bass drum 874 times in one minute!

Those fast feet were just what a red hot upcoming singer named Otep was looking for in 2003 when she asked Doug to join her heavy metal band, OTEP.

OTEP was formed in Los Angeles in 2000, when lead singer, and the band's namesake, Otep put together a group of talented musicians who were quickly signed to Capitol Records. Their first EP Jihad was met with critical acclaim and was followed in 2002 by their debut full length CD Seva Tra. The band performed on the OzzFest tour in 2002 and 2004, attracting audiences with their mesmerizing mix of aggressive heavy metal and evocative lyrics. The band consists of lead singer and lyricist Otep, Lee Rios on guitar, eViL j on bass and Doug Pellerin on drums. The band released their second studio CD, House of Secrets in July 2004. Pellerin joined the band in 2003, playing in the studio on House of Secrets. His aggressive high-energy drumming has powered the band since the day he joined.

Doug is touring and recording on a Mapex Saturn drum set. His extreme hard and fast style of play was perfect for the Saturn. Its maple and walnut shell construction delivers the thunderous tone capable of driving the music of OTEP.

Doug also wanted an auxiliary snare with plenty of crunch, so he chose the Black Panther 13 x 5.5 Hand Hammered Steel Snare. If you see an OTEP performance, you’ll instantly recognize the "crack" that the Black Panther adds to his repertoire.

Doug lists Virgil Donati, Joey Jordison, Thomas Lang, Neil Peart, John Bonham, Mike Portnoy and Terry Bozzio as his influences.
